WTN: 1999 Langoa-Barton

A weekend survey of the cellar uncovered this wine in a corner. 1999 was good year, as I understand it, but not a great year. Good fill and an intact cork. In the glass, the wine seems to have lightened in color a bit with little if any bricking around the edges. On the nose some nice but subdued fruit. Very drinkable but as Liz put it, it tasted “thin” as if it had been watered down just a little but. Nice finish but no a long finish. I did decant but found no sediment and the wine didn’t change much between opening and the last drop, which was an hour and a half. This wine was at its best two or three years ago, I’d guess. To paraphrase Michael Jackson: I am a WTN reader, not a wrtier. That is to say, bare with me as I try to become more adept.
