2005 Caves Plouzeau Cuvee de la Chevalerie Bourgeuil

The color was rather dark purple, and the nose was also somewhat big and bold with strong berry fruit. Was this wine slightly closed, because the palate was much more restrained, with light berry fruit, bell pepper? What stood out was the amazing silkyness of the mouthfeel. Deliciously silky. A very elegant and silky sipper-if one doesnt mind too much the bell pepper element. 86 points.

2004 Cinco Sentidos Cabernet-Malbec Mendoza, Argentina.

A very crisp and high acid rendition...not a fruit bomb in any way. Alcohol balanced. Quite light mouth feel. On the other hand, I just don't like the spicy dill flavor of American oak (40% per label), and there is simply not enough fruit here to overcome that "dillyness" That is one flavor profile I dislike, so 83 points despite the wine's elegance and other strong points.
