A Jorge Ordoñez Import, picked up for about $35 in 2007. Pours an inky-purple color, nearly opaque. Aromas of berries immediately burst from the glass, as it calms down and I dare put my nose near the glass, I get some floral touches and whiffs of toasty oak with the heady aromas of mixed berry compote. The palate is deceptively balanced and not, ultra-rich given the nose. Good balancing acid for the medium-to-full bodied wine. Very much in the modern style, and very enjoyable.
