WTN: Chakana Reserve Malbec 2008

by Bruce Hayes » Wed Nov 04, 2009 9:50 am

Mendoza

Dark purple in the glass.

Black cherries on the nose.

Very juicy black cherry, blueberries and blackberries, fairly weighty in the mouth, tangy acidity toward the end. After a few glasses, the wine became firmer, dryer, more peppery and showing cranberry fruit. Certainly a candiate for short-term cellaring.

Tangy with blueberries on the finish.

An impressive wine.

Purchased at $16.95 (Canadian).

Bruce, Hi.....

A small confession on my part. When glancing at the title of this thread I thought.....oh dear, the man does not
know how to spell "Chanukah". 8) I stand comfortably corrected.

Best and Smiling Rogov
