WTN: VINTJS NapaVlly Cabernet '05..(short/boring)

by TomHill » Sun Nov 01, 2009 9:04 pm

Saw a rec in CyberSpace last week for the new TraderJoe's line of VINTJS wine, a Chard and a Syrah made by BobLindquist. So when I saw this Cab at my local TJ's, knew I had to take one for the team:
1. VINTJS NapaVlly CabernetSauvignon (14.6%) P&B by ParadiseCllrs/StHelena 2005: Dairly dark color; strong blackcurranty/green olive/plummy/chocolaty light toasty/oak rather attractive nose; soft fairly lush plummy/blackcurranty/Cab light toasty/pungent/oak solid 4-square Cab flavor; med. light toasty/oak ripe/plummy/blackcurranty/Cab/green olive finish w/ smooth tannins; a nice mild-mannered NapaVlly Cab. $10.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Cracked this ystrday w/ pretty low expectations. Was quite pleasantly surprised. Solid varietal Cab character w/ nice touch of oak. Given my utter disdain for Cabernet, I was surprised how much I liked it. If you gotta drink Cab and on a low budget, this 'un's for you. Haven't a clue as to who dumped this wine. Hope they bring in the two from BobLindquist.
