WTN: 07 Baudry Chinon Franc de Pied

Liquid silk with an amazing scent of cigar smoke, herbs, fresh red and dark fruits and earthy notes. Wow.

I'm grabbing more of this tomorrow. (Thanks for the recommendation, Keith.)

Thanks for the note. I was hesitating to try this because I was underwhelmed by the 06 Breton franc de pied, but this is enabling.

Different vintages different producers!

I've not tracked these wines extremely closely over the years but have enjoyed some of each bottling. Although I remember hearing something about one of these guys losing their Franc de Pied vines? I guess it's not Baudry if they have a 2007.

I think it was Breton who lost his... So what if they're different vintages and producers, all ungrafted wines taste the same!

I haven't heard about Breton but Joguet has grubbed up his in Varennes du Grand Clos because of an onset of phylloxera; 2007 was the last vintage. My guess is that all the ungratfed vines in Chinon must be under threat.
