WTN: 2001 Brovia Ca' Mia

by Diane (Long Island) » Fri Oct 30, 2009 8:08 pm

Tomorrow is a year since we flew to Piemonte. Early in that week, we had an appointment with Cristina at her family's winery, and when I mentioned I had a few bottles of the 1999 and 2001 Ca'Mia, she said leave the 1999 for a few more years and open the 2001.

What better way to enjoy the wine than with the tagliolini and white truffles that I brought home from a recent dinner at 11 Madison Park, along with herb roasted venison.

The wine showed some faint florals on the nose. On the palate were more of the florals with raspberries. It's holding a lot back, but lovely right now. If you are looking for tertiary complexity, it isn't here, but it brought us back to Piemonte for the moment.

Is that like a 'doggie bag'?

Sounds delicious.

If I had a doggie, he would never see it.

It was delicious, and even better at home as the centerpiece of tonight's dinner.
