I've had good luck these past couple weeks drinking through my cellar's 2003 California Cabs.
From X Winery, a negotiant house in Napa, came this pretty nice Spring Mountain blend: Amicus

Nose: Started out with powerful brown sugar note, but with air, a pretty nice Bordeauxish herbal character came through (reflecting the coolish 2003 vintage???) Definitely some currant and anise fruit on the nose as well.
On the palate, there was quite a bit going on, with smooth tannic structure, decent acidity, and richer fruit than the Ahnfeldt last night. Nice currant, anise, herbal notes. Alcohol not sticking out...but definitely a bigger wine than Ahnfeldt or Atlas Peak Claret.
Solid effort...quite nice 88 points.
