Newbie question

by Mike Veilleux » Thu Oct 29, 2009 1:49 pm

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and my first question may come across as naive.

What does WTN mean?

Thank you

WTN = Wine Tasting Note

The poster's impressions of a wine they have tasted.

Welcome aboard

Mike, glad to see you made it. Sorry for the delay on your registration. But further to what Glenn said, the purpose behind the WTN thing is that, say you were looking for a tasting note on a specific Mondavi Cabernet. Well, both the words 'Mondavi' and 'Cabernet' are used widely here in general discussions about wine, so your being able to include 'WTN' in your search would usefully narrow down the options found.

Oh great. A group of us have been tracking some banded Tundra swans from Alaska/NWT and one group traditionally head your way for the winter.

Welcome, Mike. The first bottle of wine I ever ordered at a restaurant was Riunite Lambrusco--in a converted bank building in downtown Hartford. Somehow, I think I was more impressed with myself than my date was.....

Very. Think wine geek equivalent of Saw VI.
