WTN: 2002 Daniel Bocquenet N-S-G "Aux Saint Julien"

13% alcohol Nuits-St-Georges, Burgundy, France
Imported by Vintner Select, Mason, Ohio.
Bright, vibrant dark fruits. Well balanced. Easy drinking.
With sweet and sour chicken and rice and also tasty with sharp cheddar cheese.
I've liked this wine since my first taste of it at a wine shop in Raleigh (five years ago?) Someone else brought a bottle to a Pinot Noirs around the world tasting in the DC area several years ago and it was the wine of the night (we had a price limit so no 1er cru or grand cru Burgundies in the tasting.)
It is still drinking well although I don't know how many years it has left. I've found some N-S-G wines to be masculine and slight rustic but this has a more genteel and elegant profile. Sadly, I think this was my final bottle but it may be declining soon anyway.

I don't know this particular wine but the vineyard is on the northern side of the village which is where people say the vineyards begin to speak more of Vosne than the stereotypical image of NSG.
