This wine provided me with a bit of a surprise. Usually, I drink these kinds of German Rieslings (simple, cheap, everyday Rieslings) a little on the chilled side, since, I believe, the wine needs that extra chilled to pump up the acidity.
However, the chilled wine turned out to be rather firm and severe, pepper, with bitter lemon rind.
As it warmed on the table, it opened up wonderfully.
Honey and lime on the nose.
An explosion of juicy lemon-lime fruit, spicy, honeyed, thich, pepery, rather fat. Could benefit from a bit more acidity (see my observation above), but a very nice wine.
Mild graprefruit rind on the finish.
Good QPR at $13.95 Canadian.
Screwcap closure.
