Opened July 17, 2006. Paid about $12-13.
12.5% alcohol
Dark amethyst color. Previous bottle (same vintage) suggested tart cherry and blueberry. This time raspberry flavor predominates--concentrated with almost a syrup taste (but not sugary or too sweet, more the concentrated fruitiness). Some earthiness along with the fruit. May be exhibiting some secondary characteristics at six years of age. Very nice package. Drinking well in July 2006. Gotta love those old vines.

Great stuff huh. I know exactly what you mean by the syrup descriptor; not at all cloying, but really has that syrupy mouthfeel, and interesting to see that it's still holding the concentration at 6 years old. Not just for chilling in streetside cafes..
