2004 Valle Martello, Aprutium Alma Mater, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Cerasuolo Rosato ($7.99 U.S.). Alcohol level: 13%. A great big rose’ that gives you very aromatic red fruit perfume on the nose and upfront. In the middle it is full of red wine flavor and fruit with just a touch of Abruzzo dirt. All this accompanied by a surprisingly long finish for a rose’.
We matched it with grillpanned (it was raining) salmon filet, nuked fresh zucchini with thinly sliced onion, EVOO, and rolls. It all made for a very nice Friday night meal.
