2005 Anthony Road, Finger Lakes, Semi-Dry Riesling ($12.99 U.S. at winery). Alcohol level: 11.5%. Residual Sugar: 1.9%. We picked up a couple of these during our May ’06 trip over there. It gives you lemon and other citrus on the nose, and sweetness kicks in upfront with sweet grapefruit. More traditional ripe pears and red apples contribute to the complexity across the palate, and there is a very nice lingering finish.

We matched it with chicken smoked over apple chips, sourdough biscuits, and salad. It was a very nice dinner for a Tuesday night.
