2002 André Blanck Schlossberg Riesling VV (Alsace GC)
13.5%abv. Imp: Vineyard Road, Wellesley, MA.
This wine has sure changed since I last had it some 18 months ago. The beautiful light golden yellow color is still there. The profile that was of fresh ripe pear with a hint of lemon and stone is now petrol aromas with pear and grapefruit pith buried under a pile of stone. The mid-palate is fairly unctuous and it has picked up some nut oil (albeit slightly stale nut oil) in the finish. There is still decent balance with the acidity showing pretty well. This isn’t a bad wine, just kind of dull and that sourness of the finish is troublesome.

That sour taste does not sound right Bill. This one should be a keeper for a while yet. Looking around for the `04s are we?!!

You are right, Bob. It's corked. I just checked it and it developed some of that wooly cardboard aroma overnight in the fridge. I'm fairly TCA intolerant but this is noticeable for me.
