Corte Agualla
Corvina
Veronese IGT
2004
13%abv €15.50 (in restaurant)

Dark garnet
Closed nose
Silky rich texture
Herbaceous ripe cherry with hint of licourice
pleasant on its own but when food arrived (delayed no doubt by start of Italy vs Ukraine world cup game ) the wine blossomed

A super food friendly wine with dry grippy finish.

I do not know why it is only an IGT classification but there is a lot I do not understand about Italian wine :)

This past week we have been very impressed with the food friendliness of the local wines, and their flavour depth with reasonable alcohol levels.
