I am ITB here in Oregon. Yesterday I got to taste 3 new 2006 Pinot Noirs from Whistling Ridge. I am always happy to find another Oregon Pinot Noir that excels and is about $21 retail. The Whistling Ridge 2006 Ribbon Ridge is exactly what I look for in reasonably priced Pinots. It smells of the red fruits of Pinotr Noir and then continues through on the palate. It showed very good depth and weight. Next was the 2006 North Block and then the 2006 Estate. These showed a bit more structure and weight but had great balance. The North Block is $26 and the Estate is $32. All of these are great values at these prices. I am not sure how many markets they are in. These were made by Marcus Goodfellow who also has the Matello label and I think is still at Adea.
