Bernard Magrez of Pape-Clément fame is making a prestige wine called Kahina from Grenache and Syrah at Guerrouane near Meknès. I have reservations about the lavishly wooded style which Magrez is imposing on his Bordeaux portfolio and would expect his Moroccan effort to be similar as well as expensive.

I have read somewhere that in spite of the prevalent Islamic religion, wine consumption is quite popular with Moroccans where the cultural influence from the past French protectorate is far from dead.
