WTN: good value co-op GV

Betsy was working Sunday, I had dinner ready soon after she got home. Grilled sage pork chops, cauliflower with pimenton, and leftover red cabbage slaw (she made a bunch!). Recipe called for PN as a match for the chops, but I worried re the pimenton, and went with white. I opened the 2006 Domane Wachau "Terrassen" Gruner Veltliner Federspiel . This has more weight than the 2004, though it is a sprightly wine. Ripe white pit fruit with a little green lentil and pepper. Good acidity, nice finish for the level, I get some wet rock minerality after a while (didn't come through the fruit at first). Good wine, and a great value at $11.99. B/B+

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C mediocre. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
