The label says "Reserve Jean Trapet" at the top, so it appears to be something other than the normal bottling.
Translucent brownish-red, with a wide edge of orange.
Very light nose of strawberries, raspberries, white pepper and cardamom.
Palate of mixed strawberries, some older, bruised and sweet, others tiny, wild, and tart, plus violets and a tiny hint of white pepper, and truffle oil. Mid-palate adds anise and mild tannins. The finish lasts forever.
I don't know if this is a particularly great wine or if I just don't get enough good well-aged burgundies, but I want more. Fortunately, there is one more bottle where I bought this one. I have to go now. Bye.
