WTN: wines in odd stages

I don't have much experience with aging wines, but I've tried both of the wines below before and now they both have moved dramatically into the tangy orange juice arena. I recall tasting this once before with a Greek cabernet that later emerged beautifully. Might be the way some wines taste to me when they are in an awkward cocoon . . .

2000 Tenuta San Leonardo Vallagarina [60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot] (Vallagarina IGT, Trentino, Trentino-Alto Adige, northeastern Italy) cork closure – appears wonderful darkish purple, smell brooding, bits of spice with cloves and cinnamon, reserved on nose, taste is very fine tuned fruit, but dominantly tart orange juice combined with a bit of tannin pucker, the wine underneath is still amazing, incredibly fine-grained, amazing texture, right now it is a completely different place then when I first tried it a few years ago, not so enjoyable right now, and I suspect that it might be in an in-between place between the fading fruit and the development of the tertiary characteristics of aging, still seemed like a fit piece of work underneath

2005 Domaine des Crêtes (Joseph Vocat et fils) Coteaux de Sierre Humagne Rouge (Coteaux de Sierre AOC Valais, Switzerland) cork closure, 12.5% - appears see-through blackish purple, smell lots of depth, tangy orange juice, okay spice, pine sap, mouthfeel fabulous texture with lots of edges, taste tangy underripe with lots of sap, hard to interpret, very dense and very brooding right now, lots of spice, felt like it was shut down but would have much more to offer in the future, in a very different stage than where it was when I first tasted it in July 2007, feels like it has the stuffing to emerge with something interesting to say for 19 Swiss francs
