Gary's Wine in Wayne - Wow!!

I've been passing by the store for a few months now waiting for the construction to finish. And finally this week, they've opened. It's really an incredible store! It's very unique in it's interior design, modern meets vintage Italian villa. There are tons of wines (but I did see some empty spots on shelves which I'm sure will be filled soon) plus a gourmet cheese and foods department that's to die for. The wine staff was great - and so ready to help! I think they have over 150 cheeses at any one time! There's full beer and liquor sections as well.

Of course the bottom line ... the prices were just as good if not better than other stores I shop and buy online. It's definitely worth the trip. I'm glad there's finally a great wine store in northern NJ.

Denny, I'm sure it's great, but there are quite a few pretty darn good wine shops in Northern NJ. Just for the record, do you have any connection of any kind with Gary's?

Connection??? There is no connection. I buy wine - from alot of stores and stores online. I happen to live close by to Gary's new store and thought I'd share my thoughts on it. Isn't that what a forum is for?

Denny, pardon us for being suspicious, but very often, when a new arrival come to a forum and his first post out of the box is a highly enthusiastic rave for a new store, product, Website or what-have-you, it makes people a little suspicious that there's spamming going on.

No offense, but many of us who are familiar with northern NJ know of quite a few great wine shops in the area ... Carlo Russo's, Wine Ventures, lots more. I'm sure Gary's is worthy, too, and if you're just expressing a consumer's enthusiasm, that's great.

But take a minute to introduce yourself to the group, talk to us about wine ... forums are for talking about all those things.

We'll look forward to it ... there's always room for another great wine shop. I used to shop in NJ a lot when we lived in New York City, but since moving back to Louisville it's no longer just a short hop across the GWB ...

I've periodically shopped at Gary's Madison location, probably my 2nd favorite NJ store after WineLibrary. Next time I'm near Wayne I'll stick my head in new one.
