The Cab in Amala and the Chard is Halstead. I was just curious about Morgan Hill in general.

I don't know anything about the producer or the particular wines. Morgan Hill is a town between Monterey and San Jose (south of San Jose on Highway 101). It's quite hilly around Morgan Hill. It may be a case where the grape grower and the producer/bottler are not one and the same--may be purchased grapes.

Morgan Hill, these days, is a sort of bedroom community near the southern end of Silicon (silly-con) Valley. It's south of San Jose and a bit north of Gilroy, where they have an annual Garlic Festival. The town isn't named for a hill - it's actually in the middle of the southern wider part of Santa Clara Valley - it's named for the founder, Morgan Hill, who settled there in the latter part of the 19th Century. There are no large vineyards surrounding the town; there are some vineyards in the coastal hills between Morgan Hill and Watsonville, in the general neighborhood of Hecker Pass. If the wines were labeled with a local appellation, it would probably be Santa Cruz Mountains. I'm not familiar with either of the labels, either. Sorry!
