Hello Oswaldo
There is more than one Baud, but the main one and most likely to offer a tasting in Brazil would be Domaine Baud Père et Fils whom I know very well. They are based in Le Vernois, close to Château-Chalon, so all their wines (apart from their Ch-Chalon) are AC Côtes du Jura. Alain Baud (who also just happens to be president of the INAO Jura and all sorts of other Jura official bodies, so quite a 'political' wine person) runs the show with his brother.
The wines are always of a very decent, reliable quality, though mainly running along very conventional Jura lines - I wouldn't call them exciting. The best are without doubt the Vin Jaune and the Ch-Chalon, so I hope they might be under the table!
I've always thought the Chardonnay was a steady, simple example - it is in fact 'ouillé' that means topped up, rather than barrels/tanks not completely filled as per a Vin Jaune or traditional Savagnin - I think it doesn't see any oak. The Savagnin will be a traditional one and should be very good as it will be effectively what I call a 'baby jaune'.
The reds are very light depending on the vintage - they do not have much intensity, though I enjoyed the 2003s. It has to be said that this part of the Jura is not a great one for reds.
As for Macvin (which if you are not familiar with it is a bit like a Pineau de Charente, but don't tell anyone in Jura I said so) I always refuse to taste Macvin when I visit producers in the region so cannot comment! My reasoning - there are so many styles in Jura ... Crémant, conventional whites, oxidative whites, rosés, light reds, Vin Jaune, Vin de Paille - exhausting enough to taste through these styles usually several times a day, without adding a sweet fortified wine tasting mainly - to me - of spirit!
Look forward to hearing about the tasting if you go - and if Alain Baud is by any chance there, please give him a 'bonjour' on my behalf.
