WTN: Klein Zalze Chenin Blanc Barrel Fermented 2006

WO Stellenbosch

Moderate dark yellow-gold in the glass.

A strangely muted nose.

Intense, thick, tropical fruit syrup, lemon, orange, peach, grapefruit rind bitterness, honeyed, perfumed, slightly sweet, peppery, with good cleansing acidity to keep it from being too rich or fat.

A spicy, peppery, tangy finish.

Quite impressive. Would work well with a stir fry I believe.

A great value at $13.95 (Canadian).

Well, this sounds like just the sort of wine that I would want to sip while waiting on my tamatie bredie or bobotie! :D
