WTN: '07 Vino Noceto Rosato di Sangiovese

Popped the first one of these for the summer. The '07 version comes in at 12% alcohol and somewhere in the $15 range. Artificial cork, but this stuff is meant to be drunk over the next four or five months.

Clear orange-pink color. Nose has plenty of grapefruit mixed in with a little cherry. In the mouth, an initial hit of cherry fruit gives way to some spiciness, tart acidity, and a snappy finish. Appropriately light in body but in no way too thin (for my taste, anyway).

This is a great summer wine and a very good value. Perfect for an aperitif, a first course, or just sipping on the patio.
