Alzeyer Rotenfels
Rheinhessen
Light gold in the glass.
Honey and spice on the nose.
Quite rich and heavily honeyed, thick and intense, quite sweet, green apple, a hint of citrus rind bitterness, peppery, spicy, not much in the way of acidity to keep things from becoming cloying. After a while the intense sweetness became a bit tiring. The wine seemed to pick up some botrytis notes as it warmed.
