WTN: 2005 Prunotto Dolcetto

by Brian K Miller » Thu Mar 27, 2008 11:56 pm

A very, very "chewy" wine. Certainly some blackberry fruit, but the fruit is somewhat hidden by the structure-very firm tannins, some leather, and just that otherwise indescribable chwqy character. This wine may actually need decanting.

Chewy's a very good word--would apply to the best dolcettos I've had. Those you wouldn't describe as chewy are usually dull.

Say, Brian, I see that you passed the 1000 posts mark awhile back. That qualifies you to choose something other than the default "Wine Guru" that appears under your name. If there's something you'd like, PM me or Robin, we'll get you taken care of.

I was thinking more along the lines of "Pathological Collector" but that would harsh the vibe.
