WTN: Two wines with Sunday Easter dinner

Domaine Des Salices Viognier 2006
Vin De Pays D'Oc
J&F Lurton

Not much on the nose.

Incredibly spicy, heavily perfumed and floral, some green apple and peach, very smoky, zippy acidity, sweet. Overall I found this wine to be quite overpowering in its perfume and floral notes. It was not very pleasant at all and reminded me somewhat of Old Spice aftershave. Rather disappointing, since I have greatly enjoyed many other vintages of Viognier from this operation.
Screwcap closure
Purchased at $13.95 (Canadian).

Lenz Moser Presitge Beerenauslese 1995
Neusiedlersee

From a half bottle.

Very dark copper color.

Toffee and burned sugar on the nose.

Raisins, apricots and marmalade, spicy, good acidity, rather thick in the mouth, burned sugar.

Orange, raisins and apricots on the finish.

An incredible and delicious wine.
