WTN: Equus Sauvignon Blanc 2007

by Bruce Hayes » Sat Mar 22, 2008 7:04 pm

Maipo Valley.
Vina Hara De Pirque

Almost clear in the glass.

Pine resin and peppery on the nose.

Spicy, very peppery, lime, gooseberry and bitter grapefruit rind, somewhat creamy, pine resin, good acidity, very rich and intense flavours.

A good tangy finish, with gooseberry and grapefruit rind.

Very good value at $11.95 (Canadian).

I was kind of shocked to see Equus and Sauvignon Blanc in the title of the post together. When I worked at Wild Horse Winery the Equus label was the label used for the Rhone Varietals. The winery sold in 2003 and I guess they didn't keep the Equus label.
A ship is safe in the harbor but that is not what ships were made for.
