Not much to introduce this really - I picked it up to make up the numbers in a "buy 2 get 1 free" deal in an off licence and just grabbed the first appelation I'd never heard of. As a result, my hopes weren't high :)

=====

Quite a pale wine, smelling quite obviously of alcohol (it's 15% abv), sweet coffee and lightly of oak.

That sweet liqueur coffee flavour is the first thing that hits the palette too, when it becomes clear that the flavouring in the coffee is a little sprinkling of chocolate. Then we pass into a cocktail of red and black fruit, passing through some spice and liquorice on the way. Tannin is soft and acid is bright and the finish is oaky and - once again - quite sweet, especially considering this isn't a desert wine.

=====

Pretty pleased with this, especially as an off-the-shelf grab. Will have to try some more from the AC.
