San Rafael, Mendoza
Bodega Valentin Bianchi
Dark red in the glass.
Sweet, spicy and cocoa on the nose, which later changed to smoky, charred, roasted and cherry fruit.
Lots of chocolate and quite smooth in the mouth, good acidity, cherry. With some time, the wine became a bit harder, revealing a slightly bitter-charred edge which, with even more time, subsided somewhat to be replaced with rich cherry fruit, spicy and smooth.
Drying on the finish.
Purchased at $13.95 (Canadian).
