100% malbec from Las Compuertas, Mendoza. Deep dark red color with purple hue. Aroma of very ripe red berries and a bit of caramel. Medium/full body, 13.5% abv. Grapes harvested from old vines in a high altitude single vineyard. Raspberries, strawberries, plums, vanilla, smoke and earth. Aged for 12 months in French oak, the wood treatment is very ubiquitous. Rich and mouth filling, with a good acidic backbone. Not very tannic, this will peak within the next couple of years. Very, very satisfying. Medium finish. Great value. Perfect with grilled flank steak and a tomato and escarole salad.
