DO Jumilla.
A blend of Tempranillo, Monastrell, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.

Dark red in the glass.

Spicy and cherry fruit on the nose.

Quite thick in the mouth, rather tangy, black cherry and raspberry, tobacco, red licorice, spicy, drying, with some shrillness and some alcohol heat toward the end.

Spicy, red licorice on the finish.

Purchased at $18.55 (Canadian).

An okay wine, but not nearly as good as a similar bottle my wife and I had several weeks ago in a restaurant. The heat and shrillness toward the end of the wine really detracted from the whole picture.

This is a wine that I used to buy quite frequently, until I started to notice some dramatic bottle variation and then I gave up. This latest venture confirms, in my mind, that there is stil some bottle variation. I think I will avoid in future.
