I don't know about pure water, but I was definitely swirling that Cranberry Juice.

Yum.

I'm peering back into the recesses of my faintest memories of college, trying to remember what cranberry juice tasted like with vodka - isn't that what they used to call a Cape Codder?

I was thinking that with just a touch of ETOH, cranberry juice would have to bear a strong resemblance to red wine.

Heck, I guess I could go to the liquor cabinet and mix some up right now.

You guys are scary. Wine is meant to be poured into a 10 oz highball glass and slugged.

Cranberry juice cocktail (sans alcohol) was my beverage of choice in the late 1990s (and I drank it a lot), now I find I can't bear the stuff--tastes like nothing but corn syrup to me, probably for good reason, per Ocean Spray's website:

Ingredients:
3.7 % Ocean Spray® Cranberry Concentrate
16.69 % High fructose corn syrup, 42% fructose, 71 Brix*
79.57 % Water
0.04 % Ascorbic Acid

* Staley Isosweet 100

Different strokes, I guess . . .

Cranberry juice is also excellent as a tequila mixer. :mrgreen:

I prefer the NV - more consistent.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.

Cranberry juice and vodka was my beverage of choice back in college. Ocean Spray was the only thing that could cover up the awful taste of Vladamir Vodka (yes, the stuff that was $13/handle and tasted like cleaning solution).
