2005 Mas Carlot Languedoc white info

by Bob Henrick » Wed Mar 05, 2008 9:10 pm

I've been offered the 2005 Mas Carlot blanc which is a marsanne/rousanne blend at a great price. I've never had the wine and was wondering if anyone on the forum had any insight. The offer is an email offer from Schneider's of Capitol Hill offered at a bare $6 per (plus shipping) so as they say on TV, "The Price is Right" Some might know that I love the two grapes involved and that alone might be worth the gamble. Thanks for any info.

Aaagh sucks, here we go again! Bob H has me salivating again with his mention of this blend, and its only 8 in the morning!

***just did some quick research. Lady winemaker/family, known for some good red wine production. Has been producing whites for a number of years so should be OK.

Bob, it seems that no one has had the wine, or they have had it, and it is so bad that they can't describe it to me, or it is so bad that they can't bring themselves to speak the words. But, I would think almost any marsanne/rousanne wine would be worth $5.99 per 750ml. Maybe not though. Honest truth is that I am not a big fan of young marsanne nor rousanne. Especially marsanne needs 3-5 years and IMO closer to the 5.
