To start selling in Italy

Anyone knows how the legal matters are handled regarding selling own production in Italy?
Suppose I were to produce wine in Italy, what amounts are then legal without having to register and go through every bureaucratic instance?
I am just looking to try something out, but not ready to go through a whole lot of trouble for something that actually could fail...
