Suggestions For Basque Country And Rioja Wineries?

We'll be driving around Bilbao, San Sebastian and Rioja Alavesa areas next month. We have 8 full days and will be staying mostly in small village towns outside of the big ones. We will also do day trips to Pays Basque (France) area.

I'm looking for suggestions on wineries to visit (txakoli, Rioja, what else is there?) and any contact information for appointments.

We're really excited about this twice-postponed vacation and will note down interesting stuff to post about.

Rioja is a very interesting wine region, and there are more and more wineries that offer cellars doors. The landscape is beautiful and this is a good time of the year to be there.

On suggestions of places to go to and wineries to visit, I recommend you have a look at this site, which shows 2 routes to make in Rioja, it's quiet helpful: you have wineries on the way ,restaurants where to eat, and monuments.

Luis, thank you so much for this very helpful link. This is very useful, especially the Logrono-to-Haro route as we will be based in that area. I've already made a couple of appointments at Haro. Thanks again.
