2006 Pépière Côt La Pépie (Vin de Pays du Jardin de la France) Ollivier has bottled pure fun in this snappy red. Bright cherry and strawberry profile with some leafy and vegetal elements. As the wine opens, there is more earthiness, anise, and tobacco. Low alcohol (12%), plenty of acidity, and good overall structure make it an excellent match with wild mushroom risotto. Foam cork. You get all of this and a drunk chicken label for $12.
I haven't had Ollivier's Cepage Côt. Can someone here tell me the differences between these bottlings?
