Being a member of the Long Island Wine Ambassadors (LIWA), a volunteer subgroup of the Long Island Wine Council (LIWC), on Friday evening, February 8, I had the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful evening of “Jazz on the Vine”. To kick off Winter Feast (a series of jazz concerts), a promotional thing to attract more people to the Long Island East End wine region during the off-season, Martha Clara Vineyards, the LIWC, and the Suffolk County Arts Council sponsored a concert featuring Papo Vazquez- Pirates Troubadours From the Badlands. So if anyone is wondering, a Long Island “spicy” Syrah does go well with jazz (especially with a “salsa” beat to it).
