WTN: 2001 Clos L'Eglise (Côtes de Castillon)

2001 Clos L'Eglise (Côtes de Castillon) - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Côtes de Castillon (2/9/2008)
This is evolving beautifully in bottle. Yes it's rich and ripe, but there is good balance with its structural elements, and it makes for a really fun drink. It's not often you can say that about serious, stodgy Bordeaux but it fits this wine. Lots of concentrated black cherry fruit fills the palate, and while it's still got some tannins to resolve, there's plenty of fruit to go around. I don't think I will be able to keep my hands off my last bottle though. A great bargain considering I paid $14 on futures a year and a half into the campaign.

Got a few--thanks for the note. Very helpful.

just have one bottle, which is not in easily accessible section. Sounds like I don't need to hurry to dig it out. thanks

You can safely allow it to dig itself out naturally.

I have had this wine and it's always been very reliable, no matter the vintage. I wonder what the 2005 is going for? It may be time to do some research!
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
