We visited Syncline Wine Cellars (http://www.synclinewine.com/) last summer and tasted all of their available wines. They did not have any of the Subduction Red at the time, and I just discovered what I missed. I purchased a bottle of the newly released 2006 Syncline Subduction Red ($20, 13.8% ABV, screwcap) this weekend and tasted it tonight. My wife opened the bottle and poured it into a decanter a bit under 2 hours before I got home.
This wine is a blend of 62% Syrah, 18% Mourvedre, 17% Grenache, and 3% Cinsault, which have been cofermented. It is dark and lush smelling with pronounced fruit aromas. The tastes are a nice blend of raspberry, dark fruit and spice. Beautiful finish. I really loved this wine and will be ordering more of it right away.
