2000 Le Baron de Brane - Margaux - Estate Bottled - Imported by W.J. Deutsch & Sons
I don't drink much BDX mostly because what I like is too expensive and what I can afford I don't like. This was a welcome exception and exactly what I think decent BDX should taste like. Black currant, graphite, black fruit generally, definitely not a new world, fruit forward type of wine. Long finish, slightly unresolved tannis that make me think I opened it too soon. I wish I had a lot more of this in my cellar. The label suggests that this is a Brane-Cantenac second label. Anyone know for sure?
