Bodegas Castano
DO Yecla.

A blend of Monastrell (80 per cent) and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Very, very dark purple, bordering on black in the glass.

A very rich nose: earthy, chocolate, tarry.

Rather thick in the mouth, tangy acidity, fleshy black cherry, chocolate, spicy, peppery, tarry, mint, fennel. Very rich and intense.

A very long chocolatey finish. One of the better red wines I have had in quite some time.

Purchased on sale for $17.90 (Canadian) and a steal at that price.
