- 2001 Château de la Dauphine - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Fronsac (1/28/2008)
Dark and opaque with little sign of age. Dark fruit, vanilla, undergrowth, slightly smoky with a hint of licorice. A wonderful full mouthful also showing the the berries and slightly sweet vanilla with well integrated tannins. We drank half the bottle one night after decanting it and it was still full and aromatic the following day, with the fruit mellowing out and the licorice becoming slightly more pronounced. Very typical Bdx and well presented. (90 pts.)
