WTN: 2006 Ch. Doisy-Daene, sec

2006 Ch. Doisy-Daene,Grand Vin sec, Bordeaux, France
Here we have a Bordeaux blanc sec made by Denis Dubourdieu who is Professor at the Faculty of Oenolgy at the Bordeaux University and consultant oenologist for many Ch´s regarding white wine. Despite the fact that Ch. Doisy-Daene is more famous for Sauternes, this 100% Sauvignon Blanc is recommendable. Textbook Sauvignon Blanc with a herbal perfume and the classic gooseberry notes. Fresh, crisp on the palate with big flavors of fern&herbs intermixed with gooseberry, white peach and a touch of vanilla from the oak. Splendid elegant and a good aging-potential for the coming years. No doubt, Denis Dubourdieu is the master of white wine in Bordeaux and his other wines from Ch. Reynon and Clos Floridène are also worth a try. LABEL

Interesting! Had no idea Doisy-Daene produced a dry wine. But I know there are a lot of white Bdx's that never make it our side of the pond--small production, etc.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Jenise,

Doisy-Daene sec first made in 1948, it is the first dry white wine to be made in Sauternes.

Cheers,
Martin

The way you have it labelled in your note would denote the sweet wine. There should be the word sec and perhaps, IIRC, the word Barsac shouldn't be on the label. (This last point I am recalling, haven't looked up.)
