WTN: Cellier des Dauphins Cotes du Rhone

by Shaji M » Wed Jan 23, 2008 12:48 am

I remember passing this winery in Tulette on the way to Valreas in 2005. But at the time, I did not stop for degustation. So, when I saw this wine at the Bel Air in Sacramento this weekend, I decided to chance it. A light bodied red with pleasant acidity and red berries. Not a very complex wine but at $7.99, it was a decent quaffer.

I believe that they are the largest producer in the Rhone Valley by a country mile. I've not been impressed with the quality, but for $8, what do ya want?
