The most Burgundian Champagne I have ever tasted. Loads of red fruit, but also an distinct earhtiness, and yes a touch of brett funk. It's sparkling premier cru red burg! Wow yummy. - N.V. Vilmart Champagne Rubis - France, Champagne (5/28/2006)
Not nearly as exuberant as the bottle I had exactly a year ago (from the same batch/same purchase). Perhaps I left it in the cellar a bit too long. It's still a very nice wine, but the fruit has toned down a little more than I prefer in my rose Champagne. Still a bit of earth, but the funk is gone (a good thing). Very tasty and easy to drink, but it was better a year ago.
