WTN: 2006 Robert Eymael Monchhof Estate Riesling

"Mosel-Saar-Ruwer Riesling Qualitatswein A.P.Nr. 2602 029 017 07" 9.0% Alcohol

Pale, almost colorless, tropical but faint nose, more body than the nose would suggest, tropical fruits, apple, peaches, very slightly sweet, good balancing acidity, pleasant moderate lasting finish. I served this with....are you ready....Pasta e fagioli! Why, because I knew my wife would love this wine and that's what we were having for dinner. It was a lovely match and it is terrific the second day too. By the way, the Belgian ale I had the other day had a higher alcohol content!

Nice note there Howard. Gonna have to buy some more Mosels after I have cleared out the cellar a bit!

Thanks Bob, the more I drink of these rieslings the more I like them. What's not to like (other than the labels, I mean)? They've got fruit, acidity, complexity, age-worthiness and decent price. Don't tell anyone. Let's just keep this between ourselves, OK?
