Hard to beat a good single malt scotch for me. Brandy would be a good second, though.

Mark, actually, that train wreck has always been an unnatural union of Netscape and CompuServe and bore both brands interchangeably. Since the Netscape browser is now officially dead, I thought I'd go back to referring to That Other Forum in the old-fashioned way.

Port is my number one but I also branch out to such beverages as Amaretto and coffee, Irish coffee, gluhwein, jagatee or jagertee--not sure of German spelling for this one (rum and tea), mulled apple cider.

I'm with Mr. 1K, a single malt scotch hits the spot. Why wasn't that one of the choices? I am sure it would get a lot more votes than some of the other choices!
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows

Used to be Port. But darn that Otto...now I reach for a dry Amontillado Sherry.

While I voted for Port, sometimes I'm inclined to go with a smooth, single barrel or small batch bourbon.

I voted port but probably should have voted "other" since I truly enjoy a single malt scotch. For my wife and I to share this is when I bring out the bigger CA cabs that have trouble matching with the food we prepare and goes well by themselves on a cold evening.

If we're having a cheese course after dinner, then it is typically port, otherwise I will pour myself a KSBW neat into a snifter and enjoy. Lately I've been working through a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 15yo.

My homemade dry labrusca. It's too perfumey to work with most foods, but as a stand-alone sipper, it's my favourite by a long shot (pun intended - bottoms up  )
